Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)

A hardware-isolated processing environment that can hold sensitive data and perform computations on it without exposing the raw data to the surrounding system, including to an AI agent operating alongside it, used by Terminal 3 to keep employee salary and bank details out of the agent's own context entirely (MGF v1.5, p.35).

Defined in 2 GAGE programs, which carry 4 distinct definitions of it. The wording above is taught in Certified Agentic AI Governance Professional (CAAGP).

How each discipline defines it

The same term does different work depending on who is using it. These are the definitions as each program teaches them, unedited.

Certified Agentic AI Governance Professional (CAAGP)

A hardware-isolated processing environment that can hold sensitive data and perform computations on it without exposing the raw data to the surrounding system, including to an AI agent operating alongside it, used by Terminal 3 to keep employee salary and bank details out of the agent's own context entirely (MGF v1.5, p.35).

AI Infrastructure & Data Center Governance

Certified Agentic AI Governance Professional (CAAGP)

A hardware-isolated environment that keeps sensitive data inaccessible to a system's ordinary processing context, referenced in the Terminal 3 example as a structural way to keep sensitive payment data out of an agent's own reasoning context entirely.

Certified Agentic AI Governance Professional (CAAGP)

A hardware isolated compute environment. Terminal 3 holds all sensitive payroll data exclusively within a TEE, so the agent itself never receives that data and cannot leak or expose it, because it was never in the agent's context to begin with (MGF v1.5 p.35).
