What is a focus area?
A focus area is the subject a piece of AI governance work belongs to. The 65 areas below are the controlled vocabulary the whole map is filed under: every competency names one or more of them, and so does every graded topic.
How is a focus area different from a skill?
A skill is one competency an employer names in a posting; a focus area gathers the competencies that belong to the same subject. There are 57 competencies across the 65 areas, so most areas hold several.
Where do I start?
