Voice cloning
The use of software, often AI based, to generate synthetic audio that mimics a specific real person's voice, using a sample of that person's recorded speech as reference material. Modern voice cloning tools can produce a convincing result from a few seconds of audio and are widely accessible, which is why voice alone is no longer a reliable identity test. (see Topic 1.4)
Defined in 2 GAGE programs, which carry 5 distinct definitions of it. The wording above is taught in Senior AI Scam Defense.

The use of generative artificial intelligence tools to produce synthetic speech that closely mimics a specific real person's voice, typically trained on a sample of that person's actual recorded speech, sometimes as short as a few seconds.
