The Central Statistics Office release of 7 July 2026 reports that data centres used 23 percent of Ireland's total metered electricity consumption in 2025, up from 5 percent in 2015, and that their consumption rose from 6,973 gigawatt hours in 2024 to 7,663 gigawatt hours in 2025, a rise of 10 percent.
