China's 2026 work report names embodied intelligence a future industry and prints robot output growth
The Government Work Report delivered on 5 March 2026 lists embodied intelligence among the future industries the state will cultivate, alongside future energy, quantum technology, biomanufacturing, brain computer interfaces and 6G. Reviewing the previous year it records industrial robot output growth of 28 percent. The term humanoid robot does not appear in the report.

Embodied AI is now named at the top of Chinese economic policy, which in practice means money, provincial follow through and standards capacity aimed at it. Read the printed output growth as the reason Chinese suppliers of arms, joints and whole machines will keep competing on price, and plan your component sourcing and your export exposure with that in view.
