How each discipline defines it
The same term does different work depending on who is using it. These are the definitions as each program teaches them, unedited.
An independent opinion on whether something works, covering a defined population, given by somebody who does not own or operate what is being examined. The tenth object. Its value is determined by how its population and scope limitations are stated.
