Generative AI

What the record shows

The pattern in this sector

Every European enforcement action against a general purpose generative service so far has run through data protection law, not the AI Act. The pattern is consistent: authorities move first with an urgent measure, the provider complies within weeks, and the substantive question about training data is left for a decision that either never comes or gets annulled. From 2 August 2026 the Commission can fine model providers directly under Article 101.
